The 4Aces GC has been one of the most successful teams to ever play in both seasons of the Saudi-backed League. Waltzing along the same path, the Dustin Johnson-led LIV Golf squad recently saw three of its golfers in the ‘lock zone’ with the remaining player, Pat Perez, in the ‘Open Zone’. This led to him becoming a free agent as per the new transfer window rules of the PIF-founded league.

However, the skipper could not let go of his valuable teammate as he extended his hand to the golfer for the upcoming 2024 season. And, Perez was extremely ‘grateful’ for his captain as he revealed his thoughts, a little while back, surprising many!

The 47-year-old finished at the 28 position in the 2023 LIV Golf standings placing himself inside the ‘Open Zone’ with a total of 47 points. He thus became a free agent during the league’s offseason since the American’s contract with his team had expired coupled with the fact that he was placed between 25-44. However, Johnson wanted the golfer back for yet another season.

The 3X PGA Tour champ has now become the first free agent to sign a new deal for the upcoming season of the Middle Eastern circuit making his way back to the 4Aces GC. Moreover, Perez came to be tagged as the “most valuable Fourth Man” in the 2023 edition of the PIF-funded league. Well, who would want to give such a player up, right?

Responding to the deal, he mentioned how he “couldn’t be more excited” for the same. Expressing his gratitude to become a part of the circuit once more, he said, “It’s phenomenal to remain a part of LIV. I’m very grateful.”

If one is to look back at the golfer and his performance over the past year, the captain of the 4Aces GC re-signing the pro does make perfect sense.
