In the wake of an untoward match played by Manchester United last night, the panic button has been pushed as rumours fly rampant. The fans blame the Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal of whom they were very sure when signed, suddenly, not anymore. The Red Devils lost 1-2 to Norwich City at Old Trafford as they lost their top 4 spot and dreams of playing in Europe next season just fades off one more shade. Defeat meant Manchester United have now gone six games in all competitions without victory for the first time since 1998.
If rumours are to be believed, Manchester United’s board is ready to take the call and let the manager off the hook and look for someone more appropriate. Many predictions are in place- some say it’s Ryan Giggs, some believe it’s Jose Mourinho who was recently sacked by Chelsea FC due to a very disappointing start to the season as they lurk behind standing at the 15 position on the table.
It’s rather different for the Chelsea fans as they keep defending their ex-manager, staring down their current players like Diego Costa who was subbed off for Loic Remy and constantly chanting Jose’s name. It wasn’t any different up in Old Trafford as the Norwich City fans sang his name to make the Devils’ current manager feel utterly prickly about the situation. When asked if he feared for his position, Van Gaal said: “Yes of course I am worried about that because I know that belief in a manager is very important.”

The 64 year old Dutch was rather unsure of his answer when asked he will be given time at United, he said “Yes I think so but I never know, in this world, you never know. It is not up to me, but we shall see,”
Van Gaal has won the league with Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the past but has somehow failed to show the same charismatic effect on the English giants. Will this be it for Van Gaal? Other than Jose Mourinho, the bets are on for the likes of Carlos Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola but some don’t see that materialising as heavy reports from sources claim Carlos will take over Bayern Munich as Pep will go to Manchester City.
Reports suggest that Jose Mourinho wants to start working immediately and if Van Gaal gets the sack, will it be Jose for United, or will Ryan Giggs who will take the stand as he did last night?
Here are some reactions on twitter

While I don't think Moyes is good enough to be MUFC manager, he surely would have done far better with the sort of money LVG spent
