Pat Perez has started a new chapter in his life. The LIV Golf pro spent the last Christmas navigating through a labyrinthine divorce. A year later, Perez is spending the holiday season with his new girlfriend, Britten. They have been dating for a few months after Perez ended their marriage, but updates from the LIV Golfer himself have been rather rare. Until today.

Before dating Britten, Pat Perez had two minor children with Ashley. They had been together since 2014, but their relationship was not without any controversy. Be it her uncalled-for comments on Tiger Woods’s accident or revealing that she would love to see Rory McIlroy get punched, the LIV Golfer had to endure backlash because of his wife’s comments. 

There haven’t been any cases like that with Britten. Rather, most of their updates have been about spending time together. In a recent Instagram story, Pat Perez shared a picture of themselves with the caption, “Merry Christmas.” Perez was wearing a ‘Merry & Bright’ Christmas-themed green t-shirt, while his girlfriend had an antler on top of her head.

Although Perez’s divorce came without any publicized battle, Ashley had fired shots on social media without taking her husband’s name. She shared a post of former PIX 11 journalist, Tamsen Fadal, on living with a narcissist. Captioning the story, Ashley wrote, “Hmm. Sounds familiar. Except for the ‘Mr big’ part. I absolutely never referred to him as that.” Perez didn’t choose to respond. Rather his posts show he has moved on from that part of his life. While some were happy, others came up with curious questions. 

Netizens wonder if Pat Perez is still in party mode

Pat Perez finished 48th in the LIV Golf Season-long standings, failing to net a single top-ten in the PIF-funded league this year. He was on the verge of losing his status until a late bogey from Kalle Samooja lifted him up on the leaderboard. The Drop Zone starts from 49th. Referring to that, one user commented, “Challenging year in a few categories for him.” While another wrote, “Dude’s a survivor. Big upgrade all around. Respect.” A third chimed in with a similar take. “Pat looks healthy and great…in much better shape.”

Others, however, didn’t leave the opportunity to poke a fun or two. Pat Perez loves to party and he doesn’t hide that. A video of Perez & Co. partying aboard a private jet went viral in 2022. In fact, some old clips on Brittane’s Instagram reveal that the three-time PGA Tour winner has hit the dance floor a few times with her. One user joked, “But it leaves us wondering does he still like to party in the back? He’s still all business up front.” 

While some were more curious about his relationship with Phil Mickelson. Golf writer, Alan Shipnuck alleged that Lefty had a run-in with Perez’s former wife Ashley. Apparently, this is the reason the two LIV golfers’ relationship has turned frosty. “Does this mean he’ll finally tell us what Phil said to her?” one curious netizen quipped. 

Interestingly, Perez never cleared the air on the reason behind his ‘hatred’ for Phil Mickelson. In an interview, the 48-year-old said, “When it comes to Phil, I have a different hate for Phil than most people.… Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable.” Despite being in the same boat, nothing really changed between these two. And it’s unlikely that the 48-year-old would dig up old wounds now that he has moved on.
