Which is a real sport and which isn’t a real sport depends on who’s playing the sport, isn’t it? But, as a professional athlete, is it okay to take a shot at someone else’s massive moment? Well, there’s a Wrestling Legend who dismissed Golf after Tiger Woods returned to professional golf after 17 months.
It so happened, Wrestling Legend Don Callis took to social media to take a below-the-belt shot at golf. He asked whether it was even a real sport. While he may not have wanted to disrespect the game, he still made this reference after Woods’ massive comeback.
Is golf a sport?

Now, he reiterated that golf can be considered a game, but definitely not a sport. Maybe it’s because he feels that for something to qualify as a sport, the players need to do more than just swing their clubs such as carry their own clubs or another form of physical labour.
It’s a bit like baseball. It’s highly skilled and an insane amount of hand to eye. Maybe more game than sport. Also curling and darts and bowling .

But, golf is different. The players are driven around in carts, they have caddies to carry the players’ clubs, and overall it may be mentally stressful, but not physically exhausting.
Did Don Callis mean to take a shot at Tiger Woods’ return?
It doesn’t seem like the Canadian Wrestling Legend wanted to insult Tiger Woods in any shape or form. Moreover, let’s not forget that Woods returned to the game after healing from a fatal accident from February 2021 which almost took his right leg.
While his comeback was good, he couldn’t keep up with his performance in the second and third rounds. Some fans were left amazed with his comeback, but noticed he used the clubs for support while having to stand for an extended amount of time.

But, if he did, it was quite the irony considering Don Callis is a professional wrestler, that too signed with AEW at the moment. Almost everyone knows professional wrestling has elements of scripted violence in it. Therefore, rather than being a sport, it is considered as sports entertainment.
