One such golfer is the 24-time PGA Tour winner, Rory McIlroy.
The Northern Irishman has had a satisfactory performance on the greens. However, soon it converted into a disheartening toil as McIlroy struggled with his physical health. It was obvious for the reporters to ask the golfer about his health, which drew concern about the golfer’s stroke limitation and his feelings regarding the same.

Completing his first round, Rory McIlroy had divulged about his health concerns during the post-round press conference. He had revealed struggling from Tuesday morning itself with his right side, which further worsened even more the next day. A spasm at the gym in his lower back brought new troubles for the golfer, making it impossible for him to even move.
However, the golf star continued to progress into the tournament and crossed two rounds with a respectable score. Post his second day on the greens, while answering the questions of the reporters, McIlroy disclosed his current limitations on the field.
Being utterly honest, he confessed that his strokes were limited. Adding more about his current struggles, he mentioned not being able to swing his irons as per choice. This, according to him, stems from the factor of being unable to turn his “right side through the ball.”
Talking about his comparatively feeble gameplay, the 4-time major champion added about seemingly just throwing his arms at a shot. He reiterated, “I can only really hit it one way with the irons“. Confessing more about his shot restrictions, the PGA Tour Professional was quick to mention, “I can’t hit the driver the way I usually do“.
Despite all the obstructions he is facing at the moment, the golf star appeared to be maintaining a positive outlook. He included the point of being limited but just getting by right now to provide an insight into his relentless attitude.
The thought of the health concerns not taking a toll on the sports stars seems certainly impossible. This is what the professional highlighted ahead while engaging about the level of his frustration.
McIlroy divulges his emotions vis-a-vis his restricted gameplay
As the disquiet regarding the World No.2 and his strokeplay grew quite evident, one of the interviewers asked McIlroy about his frustration that the issues have appeared at this moment. However, it appeared that the PGA Tour star was content that the problems had arrived sooner rather than later.

He said, “I mean, I would rather it pop up now than in three or four weeks’ time.” Furthermore, he believed that he had been able to manage it well on the greens especially the way he got through the first and the second round.
Moreover, he was hoping for an improvement with regard to his back problems as he enters the weekend. The last two rounds are going to be crucial for the Irish star as he currently sits in seventh place on the leaderboard. He concluded his statements by adding, “But not great timing, but at the same time, it could be worse as well…“.
