Although Rogan’s recent guest, Chris Williamson, wasn’t a sports personality, the two discussed a lot about some of the greatest athletes on the planet. Tiger Woods, the golf great, was a part of their discussion.

During their conversation, Williamson told Rogan that Tiger Woods’ father Earl Woods, an ex-army officer, was the reason Tiger started golf. He also added that ‘Mr. T’ was at a tender age of just two when his father coached him extremely hard for golf.

Later, the duo was amazed by the video of two-year-old Tiger doing some puts on a TV show. Following that Rogan said, Have you read Malcolm Gladwell’s outliers? Well, that is like an amazing example of that like having a golf club in your hand at 2 years old. Having a father who is maniacal.”

The book Outliers summarizes that self-made is a myth and the external factors help make or break a person. Thus, Rogan compared it to Woods’ situation.

Rogan further added, “Who is obsessed and forcing you to do this? And then getting all that time in as your body is learning and developing… So he would f**k with him so Tiger would get better. Like he told him like I love you. But I am doing this to make you better.”

Joe Rogan on Michael Jordan’s mindset

The UFC color commentator has always been in awe of the greatest athletes in the world. Similarly, Rogan has always talked highly about the NBA G.O.A.T Michael Jordan in several of his podcast.

Michael Jordan is inarguably a legend of basketball and Rogan agrees too. In the same episode, the JRE host stated that ‘His Airness’ is mentally ill in a good way.

Rogan’s analogy comes from the fact that the NBA Hall of Famer was always obsessed with winning. The former fear factor host had also previously admitted that Jordan has a mindset of winners.
