On 30th August 2018, Serena stepped back on the courts of the US Open for the first time after becoming a mother.
Giving a glimpse of her majestic performance, the 23-time grand slam champion cruised her way to set up a third-round clash with sister Venus Williams. A match that the entire sporting world waited for, including Tiger Woods.

The BMW Championship pulled back Tiger from visiting the Arthur Ashe stadium to watch Serena play. However, it clearly wasn’t enough to stop the golfing great from expressing his thoughts on the much awaited match.
Conversing with the press after his second round at the Championship, Woods said, “It’s never easy for them to play against one another.”
Going through the history pages, it is evident that the Williams sisters have been one of the greatest competitors of each other. However, on the contrary, the two have also been each other’s biggest support when not playing against the other. Something that Tiger not only understood but also addressed.
“They root for each other so hard and they love each other so much. But when they have to play it’s not easy on either one of them,” Tiger asserted. “Especially at this late stage in their careers they know that these aren’t going to happen very often. And someone has to move on.”
