The talent and competition in LPGA have risen in recent years. Though many golfers have been regarded as the future and present of the sport, very few match the aura of the fan favorite, Nelly Korda. Coming from a family with a rich history in sports, Korda made a quick impact in golf with her success. Korda has been quite popular among the golf community. She turned pro back in 2016 but rose to attention after winning the Gold Medal at Tokyo Olympics in 2021. However, a month before her big day in Japan, Korda won her maiden Major title, after claiming the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship.
While the Korda sister won the Major at Highlands Course in Atlanta, her Tennis star brother, Sebastian, was competing for the glory of the Grand Slam at Wimbledon. Nonetheless, that did not stop the Korda brother from praising his sister after her big win.
Nelly Korda inspires her younger brother
Both parents of the Korda siblings are former Tennis stars. Though Nelly and her sister Jessica chose the path of professional golf, their brother followed in the footsteps of their parents. While Nelly Korda was competing at the Women’s PGA Championship last year, her brother was competing at Wimbledon.
Sebastian Korda ended up watching her sister win the Major at his father’s hotel room in London. Two days later, the Korda brother competed at a different sort of green but had a similar winning result as his sister. After defeating Alex De Minaur in the first round, Sebastian had some words for his sister in the press conference.

“Seeing Nelly achieve what she achieved, and how emotional she was, and how much hard work and passion she puts into it every single day, it’s super inspiring,” Sebastian said. “Hopefully I can keep playing some good tennis and stay a little longer here.”
