The hardest time for a player is when they are leaving behind their legacy and their game after giving everything to them. Legendary WNBA star Sue Bird announced her retirement in September of last year. Several well-known athletes and other members of the public praised Bird for a fantastic career. Additionally, Bird’s supporters gave her an emotional farewell.

And last night, following the game, there was a ceremony to retire Bird’s jersey. Also, her charming fiancé had a special message for Bird. However, her fiancé’s statement caused a stir in the sports world, particularly among Tiger Woods‘ supporters. Let’s find out.

The National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) OL Reign winger Megan Rapinoe spoke on the microphone about her feelings for her fiancé’s career. Rapinoe cited Bird as one of the top players.

Bleacher Report posted a portion of Rapinoe’s statement on its official Twitter account. The post was captioned: “Congratulations on like, arguably the best career that anyone has ever had in the history of any sport ever. -Megan Rapinoe to Sue Bird”

Bird leaves behind a very recognizable professional legacy. She played at the highest levels of women’s basketball for 19 seasons. Bird has won four WNBA championships and was named the 2021 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year.
But for fans, Woods’ legacy is also very strong in golf. Woods has won 82 official PGA Tour events and 15 majors. Woods is one of five players to have won all four professional major championships in his career, known as the Career Grand Slam, and was the youngest to do so. He also received the Medal of Freedom from the US President. His list of achievements can go on and on.
Without a doubt, Bird had the most amazing career. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how the public responds to her fiancé’s remark. Do fans concur with Rapinoe, Bird’s fiancé, that Bird had the greatest career in sports history?

 Along with Woods, other athletes with outstanding careers, such as Michael Phelps, Lionel Messi, and Serena Williams, were mentioned by many admirers. They believe that there are other great players in the world other than Bird.

One fan commented that there are more exceptional players in basketball than Bird.

Well, many fans certainly didn’t agree with Rapinoe that Bird had the best career in the history of sports. There are other notable athletes who have done exceptionally well in the game as well.
