Sports is a domain of mixed interactions. It is rare to find a field completely cut off from the rest. This connection between various games was witnessed recently on the greens of Edgewood Tahoe’s South course. It was during the recent 2023 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship that celebrities of different sports gathered together to experience a game of golf.

Though, the $600,000 event brought out the golf fan inside the sports stars. Post the championship, American Football players were seen answering questions related to the game of golf. The chosen names of golfers like Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, and Dustin Johnson, hardly came as a shock to anyone. It was the divergent choice made by the American Wide Receiver that brought a plot reversal, which included the LPGA Tour Pro Danielle Kang!

In a recent post by golfoncbs, the American football icons were asked to nominate their ideal groups for a golf foursome. It wasn’t surprising for the players to mostly select prominent male golfers as their competitors. However, the twist in the story happened when Davante Adams, the Las Vegas Raiders’ footballer, took the mic. While his illustrious list consisted of DJ and Collin Morikawa, he confidently added Danielle Kang as his competitor.

Among the various male golf entities, Rickie Fowler, Tiger Woods, Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, and Rory McIlroy were selected by more than one celebrity. Apart from Rickie Fowler, Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills QB, paired his group with Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

Given the caliber of both golfers, the names weren’t shocking to be present among the picks. Also, Patrick Peterson added Jon Rahms‘ name to his roster.

Considering how male-dominant the rest of the groups were, Kang’s selection seemed even more staggering. She herself also did not hold back from acknowledging the same.

Danielle Kang lets off Davante Adams post his foursome declaration

The American star Danielle Kang, is one of the renowned names on the LPGA Tour. The 2014 Women’s PGA Championship winner has time and again proven how capable she is on the greens. Although the 2023 session hasn’t been quite ideal for the golfer, it doesn’t stain the reputation she has built for herself.

In fact, the 30-year-old is one of the most successful players in the league with six LPGA Tour titles to her name. Hence, when the NFL Pro, Adams listed the LPGA icon’s name, it highlighted once again the capabilities that Kang holds.

The 2020 LPGA Drive On Championship winner also did not back down from accepting this challenge. She reposted the video in her story with a caption, “Twin giving me a shoutout, let’s gooo” Although, she did not sideline the fact that her name was voiced third proceeding Morikawa and Johnson. Per the same, Kang wrote, “I’ll forgive you for picking me third though.”
