Since it is a matter of the nation’s pride and glory, every golfer is making sure to be the best version of themselves. But where is golf’s absolute legend, Tiger Woods, this upcoming holistic week? Is he part of the US team?
Undeniably, Woods has taken golf to a whole new level with his game. He is truly an American success story. But this year, he is struggling to get back on track. And the nightmare of an ugly split with his ex-girlfriend is failing to tumble into the shadows. But in these trying times, Woods found solace in the US Ryder Cup captain’s remark.

Woods has appeared in the Ryder Cup eight times, with his last appearance back in 2018. He has an impressive 13-21-3 career record in the tournament as well. But due to health concerns this year, he decided to skip most of the PGA Tour season. Additionally, this implies that Woods won’t be competing in this year’s Ryder Cup.
Although a 47-year-old golfer is not a player, he is neither an official member nor a vice-captain. But still, according to the US team captain, Zach Johnson, Woods is essential for the team. For the game, Woods’ insight is absolutely necessary.
According to Johnson, Woods is a great resource and has a genuine interest in supporting Team USA. ”He’s very invested in Team USA, very invested in how we navigate year in and year out Team USA because the guy is patriotic, he wants to win, he’s got experience, and, shocker, he’s the best player in whatever decade. Thankfully, he’s an American. He is red, white, and blue, through and through,” said the captain.

Many thought the 47-year-old golfer would be in the venue to extend his support to his Ryder Cup comrades. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like fans will be able to get a glimpse of Woods in Italy. There is not yet any confirmation of the legend’s schedule in Rome, so as of now he won’t be there in Italy.
Yet, he is continuously exchanging text messages with the captain to give more insight into the game and strategies. ”He will not be in Rome, which is fine; it’s probably not wise; it was more or less his decision, but he’s great counsel,” said Johnson.
