Three-times major winner Spieth talked about the feeling of going in front of a crowd knowing that you are the worst player. He did not like the feeling of being judged by the masses. He said, “I didn’t like that at all. I’m fine in front of a crowd if I know that I’ve practiced.”

If he knows that he has practiced the game, then going in front of a crowd of 500 would not be a problem for the PGA Tour golfer. The former No.1 was not a bad player, but being surrounded by outstanding players made him the worst. So, attempting to deflect from the discussion, he asked Michael about facing the crowd unprepared.
The major championship winner asked Michael if this is how it feels to hit shots 17 at Sawgrass or 16 at Phoenix. He wanted to know how it felt. Michael granted his wish and responded in agreement. The feeling is the same, and it’s not good. But to protect him from such an incident, Michael told Spieth a trick. He said he should hit the ball from close or miss the green. He said, “I’ll either hit it really close or I’ll miss the green.”
Does their relationship need a safe word?
Spieth and Michael have been together since 2011 and registered three major winnings. Michael knows Spieth’s game well; in fact, he helps him to keep his cool and not deviate from the competition.
The FedEx Cup winner has a safe word with his caddie, so he does not get too pessimistic about his game. In the podcast, ‘No Laying Up,’ he revealed the fact.

If Spieth gets too negative on the course and looks down on himself, then his caddie says something that stops him from spiraling. According to their safe word rule, Spieth is not allowed to talk until the next shot.
He did not reveal the safe word, but their bond was strong.
