The Masters Tournament was nothing less than a treat for the fans to witness. With so much to focus on, including Tiger Woods’ unexpected withdrawal and Phil Mickelson’s epic T2 finish, Jon Rahm still managed to take away fans’ major attention with his unfathomable green jacket victory. However, compared to winning the highly-valued jacket, Rahm finds carrying it out in public a bigger task. In fact, he recently disclosed some, well, sacred rules to wear the Masters jacket off the field.

Jon Rahm reveals his epic green jacket rules

Rahm, 28, has achieved tons of milestones in his career when it comes to setting records on any given golf course. After winning the Masters tournament and regaining his authority as world no. 1, the golf star has earned an even bigger fan following for himself. However, besides his golfing skills, Rahm also possesses subtle sarcasm in his words. The golfer can make his fans laugh with his statements with a simple, sweet smile on his face. And after winning the 2023 Masters title, the golfer was called for an interview on GOLF’s Subpar podcast, where he revealed some serious yet surprising rules for carrying the highly-cherished “Green Jacket”.

“I don’t know about the rules”, he said. “There’s a dress code that comes with it. You learn about this quickly when you have to sign documents.” Well, maybe it’s pretty serious after all. “The jacket is Augusta National” he added. “Least you can wear is golf attire. That’s the worst dress code you can have, so no jeans, no shorts… so like I wanna keep wearing this now”.

What else is Rahm not allowed to do with the green jacket on?

After talking about the dress code, Rahm revealed how there are things he is not allowed to do. “It’s complicated,” he said. “You can’t have a public appearance. Not you, the jacket can’t make a public appearance without them knowing”.

He further added, “I can’t be photographed with the jacket.” Moreover, the golfer can’t even be seen “having alcohol” while still wearing the jacket! Well, it definitely sounds like a great responsibility. But having to win the Masters to earn it, makes it all worth it! However, it’s only a matter of time before another golfer comes in next year and takes it away from Rahm. OR do you think he’s going to defend it along with the title in 2024?
