Last year, Tony Finau won the Rocket Mortgage Classic by a whopping five strokes. However, this year, the reigning champion wasn’t able to replicate that performance. On Friday, the golf pro missed the cut by three strokes with a total of 1-under-par, but amid that disappointment, he’s found a silver lining.
Although leaving the event early, Finau took with him a bag of memories and a gesture that included a unique bobblehead in his likeness and a menu item named after him, all bestowed on him by the event sponsor.
Taking to Instagram, he delighted his fans by posting four images, showcasing his special recognition and appreciation from Rocket Mortgage. “Not the title defense I had in mind but I was stoked to be back in the 313! I was honored with my own bobblehead and a menu item the “Finau Fitu! So cool that Rocket Mortgage made a Champion feel so special,” he wrote in the caption of his post. “Thanks for all the love Detroit! I’II be back.”

Holding a bobblehead of himself and trying out the exclusive “FINAU FITU” menu item, the champion expressed his gratitude to the city of Detroit. “I’m honored, I’m humbled,” Finau said. “I used to collect bobbleheads when I was young, so to now have one is, honestly, it’s just cool.”
In the post, he can be seen signing bobbleheads and trying out the ‘Finau Fitu’, which is basically ham, Swiss, pickled jalapeno, maui onions, malaise aioli, basil tomatoes, and sweet bread.
