Thompson’s persistent absence from the Evian Championship certainly lessens its appeal, even though the precise causes are still unknown. The AIG Women’s Open at Walton Heath in August, where she has a chance to contend for a second Major championship, is when golf fans are hopeful that she can return to her best form.

Fans eagerly await Thompson’s return to the highest level of the game because of her talent and skills, which make her a force to be reckoned with.

Lexi Thompson struggles in the 2023 season amidst injuries and a form slump

Lexi Thompson has had a difficult time finding her form throughout the disorganized 2023 season. The 28-year-old golfer got off to a promising start to the year by tying for third at the Saudi Ladies International. Her subsequent efforts, however, have been far from exceptional; in the eight tournaments that followed, she missed five cuts.

Thompson revealed that she purposefully took time off from the game to enjoy life off the golf field as she looked back on her season. She gave an explanation of her choice prior to the Chevron Championship in April, noting that she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends during the offseason, which prompted her to extend her vacation by an additional month.

Thompson competed once more at the Cognizant Founders Cup in May, where she earned a solid T31 finish. She then made four more appearances, but none of them were particularly successful. The pro temporarily displayed her talent by placing T21 in the Aramco Team Series Florida in May, but she had to deal with three more missed cuts and a mediocre T47 showing in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
