In its latest episode, she hosted talented South Korean golfer Tom Kim. The team had a good time together, where a peculiar habit of Wie’s came to light.

The 2014 U.S. Women’s Open champion was quite the dominant player during her time on the course. While not really known for her aggression, Wie had a profound impact on the opposition if she got going.

During her recent conversation with Kim, the LPGA legend was asked to narrate the changes in her life after winning her first-ever LPGA tournament. In reply, Wie recalled how she was merely a teenager at the grand occasion and detailed how she had to juggle between college education and golf during those days.

But when it came to winning on the course, Wie seemed unbothered and rather relaxed. “I remember the shot vividly. I had like a 40-yard bunker shot on the last hole, which is not really what you want to leave yourself. But I left it to like three inches. And I had the easiest putt to win,” she said.

However, between those words, Wie expressed her high-pressure emotions by spelling out curse words as part of her motherly duties. “So I was like Shi***ng, I have a toddler at home. So I now have started to spell out swear words, my pants during this 40-yard bunker shot,” she said.

How did Michelle secure her inaugural LPGA Tour victory?

Indeed, on the fifth of November 2009, eighteen-year-old Michelle Wie West won her maiden title at the LPGA Tour. And it wasn’t just any other event, since she secured her victory at the iconic Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The LPGA Tour-sanctioned event was limited to the top 36 players in the world, among which Wie left everyone gasping with a memorable display. It was the beginning of many other wins on the tour, which sealed a unique legacy for the major championship winner.
