Bryson DeChambeau is widely regarded as the Scientist in the golf world for his exceptional technicalities when it comes to the sport. However, it turns out he was once schooled by Asterisk Talley. Well, it is not just this incident that has brought her under the limelight, but also the fact that she is among the 35 players still competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, entering the final round.

Apart from their common love for golf, the 30-year-old Bryson DeChambeau and the 15-year-old Asterisk Talley share the same coach. Well, turns out they have a lot more in common, as noticed by their coach, Mike Schy.

Asterisk Talley was smitten by the game of golf at the tender age of three. Her love for the game only blossomed as she grew up. Talley was taken under the wing of Mike Schy as she turned eight and a half. According to Schy, even though she was just a kid, she had an exceptional grasp on the game of gold and stated, “When she started hitting balls, I literally thought I was talking to a 20-year-old.”

The saying “age is just a number” holds so true in the case of Talley. Her coach even added that he could talk to her about golf swings as he spoke to one of his elder students, Bryson DeChambeau. In an interview with Golf Week, he even added that Asterisk Talley would give DeChambeau a hard time one time they played golf together.

In a humorous tone, he said, “I’ve watched her do chipping stuff with Bryson and beat his brains in. She’s not afraid of anyone.” Apart from that, Asterisk Talley is as good as Bryson DeChambeau when it comes to putting on blinders and focus. She copes with him, despite the huge age gap. Well, looks like Mike Schy does indeed know her inside out, given that she will be taking on the greens of Augusta National.

Although she surely is struggling a bit given that she carded two bogeys in the first round, three bogeys in the second, and also a double bogey at the par-4 16th hole to add up her score to 3-over 147, after the two rounds, tying her for the 23 position. But well, give her this; she has made it to the finals already. Nonetheless, given her aspirations, Talley does indeed have a long way to go.
