The Ryder Cup foursomes are over and currently, Europe is ahead 4-0 having won all the four matches in the morning session. In the last match of the foursomes, it was Xander Schauffele paired with Patrick Cantlay who went against Rory McIlroy paired with Tommy Fleetwood. But unfortunately, Xander and his teammate lost, and that gave a clean sweep to the European squad in the foursomes.
It appears Schauffele was discontent with the pairing. A massive hint came yesterday in the press conference.

The LIV league has garnered a lot of backlash since its inception. Even a major division took place among players. The Tour players started viewing the LIV defectors as traitors. The story doesn’t end here. Some golfers even lost their tour cards and were abandoned completely by their former tours.
Despite having knowledge of the scenario, the American Ryder Cup veteran Xander Schauffele made a bold choice when he encountered a bizarre question in an interview on Thursday. The question was: which professional player he would like to be paired with for the rest of his career?
The answer to this came as a shock. He took the name of Dustin Johnson. He chose the LIV defector over his patriotic squad and his best friend Patrick Cantlay. Xander didn’t explain his choice but most likely the golfer favors Johnson because they have both played the Ryder Cup together in the past and achieved glory for Team US.
The duo was seen in Whistling Straits at the 2021 Ryder Cup. tHEY even came out victorious against Paul Casey and Bernd Wiesberger. In that edition, Dustin Johnson won his all five matches. Overall, the LIV defectors are still looked down upon as backstabbers. Another LIV defector has faced extreme ignominy ahead of the Ryder Cup.
