Wyndham Clark is the solo leader at THE PLAYERS Championship after finishing 36 holes at TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course. Following his runner-up finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Clark is now once again in contention for a top spot.
If he does win the event, this will be his fourth victory on the PGA Tour; however, surprisingly, it won’t be his best achievement either! Clark has amassed some incredible accolades over the years. And here are three of perhaps his finest:

In the two rounds of the 2024 PLAYERS Championship, Wyndham Clark has shot two back-to-back rounds of 7 under 65. Per The Athletic, no player has ever carded such consistent low rounds at TPC Sawgrass in the history of the event! Moreover, with a score of 14 under in two rounds, Clark becomes only the fourth player to shoot a low score or better in two rounds at the event.
Wyndham Clark is the first in Players Championship history to shoot 65 or lower in each of the first 2 rounds.

The one-time major winner joins the likes of Greg Norman (1994, 14 under), Jason Day (2016, 15 under), and Webb Simpson (2018, 15 under), who scored similar rounds to Clark and eventually went on to win the fifth major. Will Clark follow the same path and win the 50th PLAYERS Championship?
2. Wyndham Clark’s dramatic turnaround in a year
When turning the pages to last season, Wyndham Clark entered the field at THE PLAYERS Championship in 2023 with zero victories on the PGA Tour and was ranked 116th on the OWGR. However, in the last 10 months, he has won a major (the U.S. Open) and two signature events: the Wells Fargo Championship and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Moreover, he was also part of the 2023 Ryder Cup team.
