TGL, even after three matches, is still unsure about the success, considering the views of fans and critics. Before the start of the tech-infused league, fans and critics were unsure what to expect from the league. However, the big names of the sport made it a must-watch to witness what the league offers. Now, with the fourth match of the league scheduled for January 27, there has been a lot going on for the team Jupiter Links.

Earlier, the most anticipated debut of Tiger Woods against the Los Angeles Golf Club witnessed a heart-breaking result for the fans. However, the loss wasn’t the only thing that took attention; it was Kevin Kisner’s shots during the match. One of his shots, which went off the greens after hitting the flagstick, went viral on the internet. Despite this, Woods was seen laughing with tears after the shot, and other players too enjoyed the moment. Away from the course, there was a huge wave of reaction that questioned the league. After the match was aired, it was discussed in the ForePlay Podcast, where Trent Ryan talked about how the league is missing out on the competitive angle and just focusing on being an entertainment league.

He even continued to share that this might create a worry for the league and eventually see a drop in players’ participation and low viewership. Now, after nearly two weeks to the first matchup of Jupiter Links, we are close to the second, where the team will compete against the Boston Common Golf of Rory McIlroy. Even after having the two co-founders of TGL and top golfers in the match, the roster update from NUCLR Golf took a de-route with fans’ reactions to it.

The post shared, “🚨🆚⛳️ NEW: TGL lineups are in for one of the most anticipated matchups to date. Both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will compete for their squads on Monday… Jupiter Links vs. Boston Common Tiger Woods, Kevin Kisner, Tom Kim VS. Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott.” The prestigious names, instead of making the fans excited about the match, made them angry with the lineup of the Jupiter Links team.

Fans still carry the trauma from the debut match of Tiger Woods’ team

After the second round, as pointed out by fans about Kisner’s shots, the new roster having him in the team and not Max Homa shocked the netizens and they couldn’t hold back to share their thoughts with Tiger Woods’ team.

While the caption stated the most anticipated matchup because of the top names, fans shared something else after the roster was released. One fan wrote, “Kisner is a fun guy, but no one really anticipates him.” After the last performance of Kisner hitting the ball straight to the flagstick from bunker on the par-3 14th hole, players, including Woods, were laughing out loud, but the fans expected the league to be more focused on golf than entertainment. The team ended up only scoring 1 point in the match, which was disappointing.

Even another fan joined, writing, “Anticipated by whom? I have paint to dry.” The comment shared that there is not much anticipation left after the debut match. The match witnessed Kisner’s multiple penalty shots and flagstick shots, which cleared up the expectations for most of the fans it seems.

Similarly, one more fan questioned the team choice, “Surprised kisner made the cut.” The roster was a shock as fans, just like the critics, expected the game to be on the competitive side, not just for entertainment purposes.

Even one hopeful fan wrote, “Bringing Kiz back is diabolical. I hope he can pull something out.” Wishing to see a comeback performance by the four-time PGA Tour winner. While on the other side of the support, netizens wrote, “gotta drop kis, wtf are we doing tiger?” Questioning the choice after the performance in the first match.

Now, with the match roster out, the fans are not happy with the team selection. Even though there can be an opposite scenario which was witnessed in the first match. What do you think will happen? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
