Lydia Ko sure has had a hell of a ride in the 2024 season. Fans are still not her Olympic victory, and the golfer has added another major win to the list. Ko recently won the 2024 AIG Women’s Open in all her glory and left the golf community stunned with a brilliant score of 7 under par. But here’s where things get interesting. There is something in a golfer’s life that she loves more than a major trophy. Any guesses?
Well, to everyone’s surprise, it was her beloved dog, Kai. And Ko wouldn’t trade him for anything, as she described in a press conference with the AIG Women’s Open. The golfer revealed an interesting yet aggressive question her billionaire husband, Jun Chung, asked her last year. Chung belongs to one of the richest families in South Korea, the Hyundai Family. “He was like, “Would you rather have our dog and not win a major again?” the golfer said, and it is indeed a tough question.
But the golfer’s reply was exactly what you think: ” I said, ‘No, I want to have Kai, like he’s the new love of my life.'” The golfer continued recalling the conversation. Although winning a major championship was the biggest achievement for golfers like her, she wouldn’t have traded having Kai even if it meant guaranteeing her third major win. But fortunately, it all worked out for her, and Ko is now a three-time major winner with the new love of her life right by her side. Sorry, Chung.
