“I’ve haven’t played well this year; I’ve played terrible,” Pat Perez admitted, and yeah, he’s not wrong. 2024 was a tough year for him in LIV Golf. He just barely avoided relegation by 1.5 points, grabbing the last spot in the Open Zone. It wasn’t just him—it was a rough season for the entire team. For the first time, they didn’t win any team trophy in the regular season and finished 10th. They did manage to end things on a high note with a tie for second at the Team Championship, though.

For Perez, his last appearance came at the LIV Golf Chicago tournament at Bolingbrook Country Club, where he tied for 47th. But as per the new update by 4ACES, Perez won’t be a part of the team now. Yes, you read that right. He’s leaving the 4Aces team! The team’s Instagram account recently shared a post thanking him for his contributions, captioned, “THANK YOU @patperezgolf.” While we don’t know the exact reason for his departure, the possibilities are endless. Retirement? Changing teams? Maybe. Maybe not. But Perez isn’t stepping away from the spotlight just yet.

Acknowledging the post, Perez reshared it on his Instagram story, writing, “Love you boys! It’s been a fun 3 years I appreciate everything!’ But wait—there’s more. The story further read: “Stay tuned for the announcement of my exciting new venture, coming next week!” So, what’s he up to? Could he be following in Tiger Woods’s footsteps with his own apparel brand like Sun Day Red? It’s too soon to say. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Perez has up his sleeve.

While Perez is buckling up for his new venture now, fans are still coming to terms with his departure. And judging by the reactions, you can tell people are already feeling the loss.

And honestly, it’s no surprise. Perez’s career speaks for itself—three PGA Tour wins, over $28 million in career earnings on the Tour, and a streak of more than 20 years without losing his card. That consistency made him a household name in golf. When he joined LIV Golf after its first event in 2022, he embraced the shorter schedule as a much-needed break from the grind of traditional tours. Ironically, that schedule has since expanded, with LIV hosting 14 events per year over the last two seasons.

Even LIV’s official Instagram paid tribute, saying, “Thank you, PP! Legend 🙌.” Fans are reminiscing about some iconic moments, like one who wrote, “That inaugural season was the best! I’ll never forget Miami and that championship dance on the LIV stage bouncing to Chainsmokers. Yeeeee PP you a legend! Thank you 🙌🏽” And to be honest, that dance and the 4Aces’ championship run are forever etched in LIV Golf’s history. Though this year at Miami, Perez tied at 48 during the tournament, some great memories are still intact with fans. 

But 2024 hasn’t been kind to Perez. He admitted, “I’ve haven’t played well this year; I’ve played terrible. But I’ve also had a lot of s— in my life this year, too. It hasn’t been the easiest year for me. It’s been a nightmare, really.” For fans, though, it’s not just about the numbers. Perez brought passion, personality, and plenty of unforgettable moments. As some  still can’t believe the news, as one fan wrote, “What does this mean?” It’s a question everyone’s wondering.
