World No. 3 Nelly Korda Reveals Her Career Motivation: ‘Listen to Tiger’s Interviews…’

American golfer Nelly Korda was recently seen participating in the Aramco Team Series in Sotogrande. Alongside her older sister at the competition, Nelly witnessed her sister emerging victorious in the team event after collectively scoring a 14-under-par to take the win by one shot. While yet to reach the final stages of the individual competition, Nelly Korda shared a short glimpse of her experience in ‘sunny’ Spain. She also mentioned what kept her ticking on the golf course, and the answer has a certain Tiger Woods connection to it.

Nelly was speaking on the golf course, when she spilled beans on the motivation she got from Tiger Woods. “I just constantly want to be better,” she said. “I mean, if you ever listen to Tiger’s interviews, he’s always talking about improving and getting to the next milestone. So hopefully I can continue playing well and see where my career will take me.”

Korda talks about playing in Spain, teaming up with her sister

Team Jessica Korda, consisting of Jessica Korda herself, Tereza Melecka, Noora Komulainen, and amateur Malcolm Borwick, won the team event in the Aramco Team Series. It was a second win in this format for the older Korda sister after her success at the 2021 Aramco Team Series in New York. “I think we just really had a good vibe out there,” said the six-time LPGA Tour winner, after continuing her dominant hold on the competition.

Meanwhile, Nelly didn’t deny keeping an eye out on her sister’s performance and acknowledged her victory. She also talked about the weather in Spain and described it as perfect for a vacation. “Yes it’s honestly so beautiful… it has blown me away,” she said. “I really like it. Hopefully one day I can come here for vacation.”

She also revealed she hasn’t got the time to explore the city during downtime. “I have not gotten to explore too much of it, but the weather is beautiful.” Nelly also spilled beans on whether her golf kit would be a companion if she ever had holidays in Spain. “I would not bring the golf course! No, that is definitely staying home.”

Tomorrow sees the conclusion of the individual competition. Nelly Korda sits in third place on eight-under-par.
