Ian Poulter was a fun ride in the third episode of the Netflix documentary, Full Swing. While he made quite the impression by bossing an entire episode upon his decision to join the LIV Golf Series, has his acting skill guaranteed him a contract for season two? The veteran revealed his status for the series’ next release through his Instagram stories recently.

Is Ian Poulter featuring in Full Swing S2?

Despite not winning a major championship in his long career, the 47-year-old has risen as one of the sport’s most famous faces. His popularity ultimately helped him to feature in the Netflix documentary shot last year, which also recorded his switch to the LIV Golf Series.

“Unfortunately we won’t be in season 2,” he said for the collective LIV group. As for the reasons, Poulter left his fans to assume the obvious. “I will let you work out why that would be.. It’s not hard,” he wrote in his story.

Why did Poulter join the LIV Golf Series?

The seasoned golfer made the switch to the LIV Golf Series last year for an alleged contract worth $30 million. Like others who changed factions, Poulter was at the receiving end of jibes and jeers, with many claiming that he chose money over legacy.

Indeed, while Poulter didn’t have a trophy-laden career, he was on song during the sport’s most beloved competition, the Ryder Cup. The British golfer holds an incredible 15-8-2 record in the prestigious biannual tournament, where he is undefeated in the Singles event across seven duels.

By his own admission, the chance to join LIV Golf destroyed his chances of becoming the next Team Europe captain in his favorite cup competition. But Poulter hasn’t been his usual self in the rebel league as well. He has zero top-10 finishes in the 48-man field across two seasons, with a best place of 12th in LIV Mayakoba earlier this year.
