However, in terms of prize money and the number of tournaments, Women’s golf still stands behind Men’s golf. Hence, the LPGA continues its relentless efforts to take the game to unprecedented heights.

2022 is a great start for Women’s golf since LPGA has announced the rise in prize money for the Championships. The Chevron Championship increased its prize money to $5 million; It is almost $2 million more than the last year.
The AIG Women’s Open has increased around $1.3 million to make the prize money $6.8 million. Although this is less compared to Men’s golf, it is a significant start indeed.
LPGA announced the venues for the 2022 LPGA Major Championships, and golf fans couldn’t help but be delighted with the choices.
Venues for the Women’s Major Championships
The LPGA took Twitter to announce the venues for the 2022 Women’s Golf Major Championships.

The Mission Hills Country Club will host the Chevron Championship (previously named as ANA Insoiration). Like every year, the Californian club will host the Chevron. The Thai professional golfer, Patty Tavatanakit, won the title the previous season.
The US Women’s Open will be hosted by the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club. Yuka Saso of the Philippines won the major last year.

Congressional Country Club in Bethesda of Maryland will host the 2022 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Although it is the first time the club is hosting a women’s major, it has already hosted three US Open and a PGA Championship. The current Olympic gold medalist and World No. 1, Nelly Korda, secured the first prize in 2021.

Like every year, Evian Resort Golf Club will be hosting the Amundi Evian Championship. The Australian golfer Minjee Lee won the title in 2021.

Muirfield will host the AIG Women’s Open in 2022. It is a historic event since it is the first time a women’s open will be played here. The club broke its history of 275 years in 2019 by admitting women golfers as its members. Anna Nordqvist of Sweden won the title last year.
