Social media sensation, Paige Spiranac, is one of the most interesting personalities in the golf world. The 29-year-old is known for sharing the struggles and criticisms she faced in her personal and professional life instead of sharing only the good bits of her successful career. While some are serious topics like body shaming, cyber-bullying and gender disparity, the Colorado native also shares some funny memories of her life.

“I woke up the next day with a massive black eye.” Yes, the online face of golf once got a black eye from her roommate while she was in college. Spiranac shared the story herself on her ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee’ podcast.
A drunk roommate mistook Paige Spiranac for somebody else and gave her a black eye
According to her, her roommate, who is also a softball player, attacked innocent Spiranac, when all she did was help her get back home after a long night of partying.
“I get her in the car, and she was totally fine,” the 1-time Cactus Tour champion narrated the story in her podcast. Spiranac explained that her roommate was blacked out by the time they reached their room. Somehow, she got the softball player out of the car; however, she “faceplants in the grass,” Spiranac added.

According to Spiranac, she went to her room for some time to set it up. Nevertheless, when she got back and tried to lift her roommate, she sprinted to her room and shut it close, not knowing the golfer was trying to help her.

Concerned for her roommate, Spiranac banged on the door repeatedly, and somehow, the drunken roommate mistook the golfer for her ex-boyfriend. “So she opens the door and decks me as hard as she possibly could,” she explained on how she ended up with the black eye.

The ex pro-golfer was proud to have a bruise mark on her face during college
Spiranac wanted to stay inside her room for a while after getting injured. However, she couldn’t miss her golf practices and classes the next day. Hence, she had to face everyone with a black eye.

According to Paige Spiranac, her teachers and friends at college were concerned for her after seeing her bruise marks. “I felt really bad-a**,” she added. “That was the only fight I have ever been in, and I lost.”

Mistaken for someone else or not, Spiranac could be part of a fight. Most students would be embarrassed if they got black eyes. However, the golfer felt proud to finally be part of some interesting incident in her college years.
