Well, this American WNBA star has proved the saying, ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ to be wrong. But how? Well, Caitlin Clark is an Indiana Fever Superstar, but her interests go way beyond just basketball. Having been praised by basketball legend LeBron James, the WNBA star is making a name for herself in the industry; however, here’s where things get interesting: she is also a great golfer!
Recently, Clark spilled the beans on how she got started on her golfing journey on the YouTube channel, TJ Sport Queens. When asked if she got into golf because of her brother or dad, Clark replied, “Yeah, definitely my dad.” She further elaborated on her experience of buying her first golf clubs, which she now describes as unpleasant. “Well, for one of my birthdays when I was a young kid, I wanted a set of golf clubs. It’s super random, so I got like a pink bag and pink golf clubs. They were like, obviously, super cheap and horrible,” said Clark.
According to Clark, she had to ‘beg’ her dad, Brent Clark, to take her to golf clubs so she could hit a few balls. “I would beg my dad, like whenever I had a rare weekend I didn’t have, like a soccer tournament or softball or basketball, I would beg my dad to take me golfing.” She mostly played with her father and brother when she was young, and now her dad gets to keep her old golf clubs that Clark has a bunch of branded clubs.

“I have a lot of clubs. I have some Callaways; I play, um, I just got some new ones; they’re got SM and Smoke; are those Callaways too? I don’t know,” she said. “I have a lot of clubs. I actually give all my clubs I get rid of to my dad, so he goes and uses them.”
One would think that the WNBA star only plays golf as a hobby, but no, Clark describes her golfing experience as a way for her to escape reality.

“So back,” expressing her enthusiasm for getting back on the greens. As per Clark, she is not much of a rest-it-away kind of person, and as an athlete, she likes to stay active. “Our coaches were like, ‘You need to get away from the gym,’ even though that’s really hard for me to do sometimes. I still want to be active and do something, so I’m going to go to the golf course,” Clark said in an interview with Golf Digest.ADVERTISEMENT
