The only French golfer on the PGA Tour has won! Matthieu Pavon claimed his maiden PGA Tour victory just a few hours ago; he was the first one to do so as the baguette man in the history of the PGA Tour since World War II. The man bagged himself a $1.62 million check with the 500 FedExCup points and the title.

The victory could not have been possible, of course, without his skills and the clubs that he used. What are the sets of equipment filled in Pavon’s bag that became his lucky charm for the win?

The man from France had been a PING customer for quite some time now. He had a similar bag for his first victory on the DP World Tour three months ago and has since been using it with a slight change. Matthieu Pavon won the Farmers Insurance Open with 13 under 275 and beta Danish Nicolai Hojgaard by one stroke.

For the maiden victory, Pavon used the PING G430 MAX Driver with 9 degrees of loft adjusted to 8.75 degrees. It is fitted with a Fujikura Venus TR Black 6X shaft. The club sells for $599.99 and is infamous for providing the highest MOI and, thus, the best forgiveness.

The fairway used by Pavon is the PING G430 LST Fairway 3-wood with a 15-degree loft and Fujikura Ventux TR Black 7X shaft. It is made with multiple materials, constructed to lower the CG and offer a low spin but more distance on the course. The wood retails for $549.99.

Instead of a 5-wood, the Toulouse native has a hybrid in his bag. He uses the G430 Hybrid with a 19-degree loft and is equipped with the Fujikura Ventus HB 10TX shaft. The club is customized to Pavon’s gameplay, and it goes for $299.99.

The irons in the bag of Pavon are PING i230 (3-PW) with Nippon Modus 3 Tour 120 X shaft. They are made for Tour players and, with given controllability, provide repeated results. The irons are more compact than the i210 sets for better accuracy. The set goes for $187.5 per club.

Pavon has changed his wedges from Titleist Vokey in October for his Acciona Open de Espana win to PING S159 edges (52/S and 58/B) with the same shaft as irons. The clubs are not available for buying yet but may soon be released publicly.
