Of late, there has been a rekindled buzz about the possibility of seeing Tiger Woods on a golf course again. Fans have been speculating about whether they might see him in Rome to show their support for the Ryder Cup or which is the likeliest event he will take to the greens to flaunt his comeback.
Amid these speculations, the 15-time major winner recently made an appearance, and it came so subtly that many in the golf world perhaps missed it. Fortunately, thanks to a PGA Tour pro who himself has been missing from the greens for a while, the fans got to live out the experiences through his eyes. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. And how could it? After all, Woods did have his golf club in his hand!

After almost half a year, Will Zalatoris has been spotted on a golf course, and that too with none other than Tiger Woods! The pair have both been away from the course since April this year, coincidentally having been spotted at the Masters. While Woods has been recovering from his ankle surgery, Zalatoris has also been recovering from his own surgery, a microdiscectomy. However, now it seems like things are going well for them.
The duo attended a teaching clinic for the Nexus Cup that is hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation. Will Zalatoris shared a picture of himself with the golf legend and penned down his admiration for him. He pointed out that Woods’ compassion and altruism don’t get the limelight they deserve. “Thanks Mr T for a helluva weekend. What you are doing for your foundation off the course is so special and gets overlooked by so many because of your feats on the course.”
The 27-year-old further wrote about the experience he shared with Woods in person on his Instagram story. He sounded full of admiration and gratitude. “Amazing to see first hand the difference you are making. Thanks for your guidance and the laughs, this weekend.”

The one-time PGA Tour winner could not help but admire his golf idol for the man he was both on and off the course. And seeing as the two have recently seen similar playing time, or lack thereof, it’s quite clear that his admiration for Woods has only grown.
Both now seem to be gearing up for a return, though, and while Zalatoris readies up to get back out onto the PGA Tour, Woods seems to already have started down that path. After all, this wasn’t his first appearance on the course this month! Thanks to the exclusive amateur event, the Nexus Cup, the golf world has seen a lot more of the 5-time master champion recently!

Why was Woods at the Nexus Cup?
The Nexus Cup aims to organize a proper tournament for amateurs. As per the official website, the Nexus Cup is available to play for 18 foursomes, and this spans across two days. This year, the event took place on the 11th and 12th of September, and the golf legend was on the greens hitting balls on the driving range!
Woods’ appearance at the amateur tournament, of course, was no coincidence. While providing amateur golfers an opportunity to engage in a professional-grade tournament, the event also acts as a fund-raiser. This year, the gains will support Tiger Woods’ Learning Labs, which provide students with amenities and support for quality education across the country.
