If Tiger Woods severs the 27-year-old relationship with Nike, it might just open a new door for TaylorMade in brand partnership and acquiring one of the best golfers in the world. Indeed, it was TaylorMade who swooped in when Nike stopped making golf clubs and signed Tiger Woods to an exclusive deal. But this time it appears TaylorMade is not the only contender when it comes to winning Woods’s favor; another golf apparel brand has tried to woo Woods away and may have a strong case, especially when the said brand has been reportedly given a stamp of approval by none other than his son, Charlie Woods.
Talking about the same, Joe Pompliano shared his thoughts on the matter, suggesting that, according to him, this apparel brand is a more suitable option for 82X PGA Tour Champ than TaylorMade.

There have been rumors floating around Tiger Woods and Nike will end their nearly three-decade partnership, with the brand rumored to move away from golf. In the wake of these speculations, TaylorMade was again considered as Woods’s potential next apparel deal, given the brand’s indications of expanding into the clothing venture. However, Joe Pompliano thinks that the best choice for Woods would be Greyson Clothier.
Talking about TaylorMade, he said, “They have deals with other Nike golfers too including Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood. So if Nike were to reduce its golf offering or even shut down the business entirely, its easy to connect dots and see why a company like TaylorMade would make sense.” However, he believes “the more logical choice for Tiger Woods at least is actually Greyson.”
Pompliano gave two reasons for his remark on Greyson-Woods’ supposed partnership, saying, “Number one, Greyson welcome Tiger’s 14-year-old son Charlie Woods as a brand ambassador in a now-deleted Instagram post this past Monday.” He continued, “And number two, Greyson’s current equity partnership with Justin Thomas, who just happens to be one of Tiger’s best friends on the Tour, means that the brand understands the long-term gain of giving up equity in exchange for promotion.”
Reports have emerged of Nike ending its involvement in the golf business altogether with the brand having dropped out of making golfing equipment in 2016. At that time, Nike’s co-founder gave a blunt assessment and said the brand was losing money for nearly 20 years on golfing equipment and decided to move away. It led to Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy exiting Nike and signing up for TaylorMade. Hence, many believe TaylorMade could replace Nike again for Woods. But with his son reportedly signing a deal with Greyson Clothier, a lot is left to be decided.
Amidst all the assumptions for Woods’s future deal, there still is a chance of Woods not opting for any. He has taken stakes in Full Swing, a golf technology training tool, which suggests he has a keen interest in business and making investments to expand his horizons beyond the greens.

Tiger Woods’ business ventures suggest he might go solo for the rest of his career
The 82x PGA Tour winner is by far one of the best golfers that has ever graced the golfing greens. Moreover, the 15-time major champion is also the only billionaire golfer in the golf community. If Woods and Nike’s deal falls apart, there is a chance of Woods starting his own brand. His golf course design business venture, TGR Design that started in 2006, and a digital golf league, TMRW Sports launching in 2024, are testament to the fact that he understands the ins and outs of the business.
