Many PGA Tour players, including Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, have signed with the Saudi-backed league, LIV Golf Invitational Series. However, most of them have chosen not to play for the Tour’s rival league and pledged allegiance to the American golf organization. And the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, is not happy about it!
“All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“When the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes,” he further added. “You get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who are making Millions of Dollars a year.”

The main highlight of the league is its purse money: a total of $255 million for the eight Series events. While $25 million is the purse offered for the first seven regular events, a whopping $50 million is up for grabs for the final team championship.
Although many top PGA Tour players are against the league, some have joined the rival Tour. These players include Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau.
