Michelle Wie West’s golfing days are already behind her. The 33-year-old has assumed her duties as a dotting mother for her young daughter, named Makenna Kamalei Yoona West.

The golf legend regularly posts about her new life as a parent through her social media handles. Her recent story shares a similar outlook, where Wie details her child’s Nike Camp experience.

The 2014 US Women’s Open winner remains one of the more popular faces in the women’s circuit despite stepping down from playing some time ago. Her latest ventures include hosting a podcast, doing regular interactive shows, and being a social media maven.

She’s also a caring mother to her baby daughter, Makenna, who recently attended a Nike camp. It was an enjoyable session for the two-year-old, as she couldn’t stop talking about the camp, prompting Wie to thank the organizers.

“My daughter will not stop talking about her Nike Camp experience with her friends. They had so much fun!” the golfer wrote in her Instagram story. Furthermore, she also thanked Nike for gifting her daughter with some merchandise.

While Wie didn’t reveal the nature of the camp, it could very well be the Nike Junior Golf Camps. The coaching organization provides junior golfers with all the tools and amenities to inculcate a general interest in the game. With over 200 locations nationwide, it also helps as a stepping stone for many junior golfers to test themselves in various tournaments.

But is Wie’s daughter following her mother’s footsteps by stepping onto golf? While fans would love the thought of its possibility, it’s still early days for the two-year-old.

However, the future could hold surprises for her, and who better than her mother to mentor her journey? The celebrated golfer was the youngest player to qualify for a USGA Amateur championship at 10 years old. Furthermore, she became the youngest winner of the US Women’s Amateur Public Links event after her triumph in 2003.
