The tensions in the Middle Eastern League were high. LIV Golf was having its second-last event of this year’s season at LIV Golf Jeddah. This was an important event for golfers since their fates were to be decided. While the top 24 golfers would have their seats secured for the next season, non-captains who finish the regular season ranked 45th or lower were to be removed from the league. The situation demanded high-level performances from the players.

Brooks Koepka, the defending winner, successfully defended his title with a score of 2 under 68. His position is assured for the following year. But what about his brother and his Smash GC comrade, Chase Koepka? Will he be able to play in the next 2024 LIV Golf season?

While one brother is having a great year, another is having difficulties on course. Chase Koepka joined LIV Golf last year. But this year, his performances have not been very satisfactory. His lone point came from tying for the 24th position in Adelaide, where he earned it.

Due to all of this, Chase is currently ranked 48th in the Drop Zone alongside three other players. Jed Morgan of Ripper GC, James Piot of HyFlyers GC, and Sihwan Kim of Iron Heads GC are the other three. Chase finished 44th out of 48 players in Jeddah with a two-over par, placing him in the bottom four of the overall points standings.

This means Chase is not qualified for the next season. He will need to do better in the promotions tournament later this year and triumph in the playoff against the Asian Tour athletes in order to earn entry into LIV golf once again. Brooks has accepted his brother’s plight and commented, “I mean, there’s nothing I can do.”

He also referred to Jason Kokrak, the other member of his team, as his brother, expressing how much he loved playing with him. ”There’s only three of us on their (Smash) team,” said the PGA Championship 2023 winner.

Well, there was no mention of the fourth member, Matthew Wolff. Apparently, both captain and Wolff are not on great terms. In the DC event, Wolff withdrew from the course, which irritated Koepka, who later took a jab at Wolff in the London event. But one thing is certain: Koepka will miss his brother without a doubt, as there are currently no opportunities for Chase to continue playing in LIV golf or with Smash GC.
