Steve Stricker is at the PNC Championship, and he’s chosen his youngest daughter, Izzi as his playing partner. Having two kids can sure be a hassle, especially when it comes to choosing one of them. But the choice was made easier for the golfer for one reason only.
“I didn’t have a choice,” Stricker said. “Plus, Bobbi is a pro, and I think they’re staying away from that part of it.” His older daughter, Bobbi, is a professional golfer. She had Epson Tour status this year and narrowly missed advancing to the next stage of LPGA Q-school.
The criteria of PNC says that partners cannot have playing status on a professional tour. But at the end of the day, that sisterly bond came to save the day. Stricker acknowledged that his older daughter was excited for Izzi but was a little hurt too. “She’s excited for Izzi, but I know deep down it hurt a little bit,” Stricker said, per NBC. Strickers had previously discussed how nice it would be to compete together in the event.

“We talked about that over the years, how cool it would be,” Stricker added. Despite Bobbi participating as a player, she’ll still be involved. She and her mother, Nicki are caddying. Who was going to caddy for whom was decided on the basis of something intriguing; “That will depend on personalities,” Stricker said with a laugh.

With Izzi by his side, Stricker is excited to create some unforgettable memories with his family just like they did in the 2023 edition.

The Stricker family shines at the 2023 PNC Championship
The Stricker family had an awesome year at Ritz Carlton in 2023. Steve Stricker teamed up with Izzi with the same caddies as this year. The family had a blast competing together, and Steve Stricker took to Twitter to express his gratitude, saying, “What a special week!” Well, it really was.
Izzi Stricker was still a senior at Waunakee High School and had an incredible experience playing alongside her dad and meeting some of her golf idols. She even got a hug from Tiger Woods after their round on Sunday, and Woods told her, “Great playing! Proud of you.” A junior golfer can only dream of hearing such words from a legend.

Bobbi was proud of her too, writing on Instagram, “My sister is so cool… So fun to watch.” Izzi had so much fun too. After the event, she wrote on Instagram, “The coolest week of my life @pncchampionship. I loved every second. Playing alongside my dad and two of my golf idols is something I’ll never forget.” Steve Stricker and Izzi finished tied for 10th place, while Bernhard Langer and his son, Jason, took home the title.
