All about the LIV Golf contract

The players had to sign a contract with LIV Golf to play in its Invitational Series. And the details about some of the players’ contracts have been released recently by Wall Street Journal. According to them, there are a couple of conditions that a golfer needs to complete to receive the offered money.

The contract demands the right to “exhibit, exploit, copy, reproduce, and otherwise use” the golfer’s images and videos. Notably, Phil Mickelson, a LIV rebel, alleged that the PGA Tour is using his face to make money before joining the LIV Series. However, the league contract also says the same.

LIV golfers, including Cameron Smith, are required to play in all the events the league officials schedule for them. Notably, the PGA Tour doesn’t have a strict rule on which golf event a golfer has to attend per season. Furthermore, the contract also demands the players to promote league activities even if they retire from professional golfing.

The contract also specified that players have to wear Team apparel while playing golf. Moreover, the golfers can only add one logo of their equipment sponsors, that too, on the right side of their hats. If a golfer needs to display more than one logo, he requires approval from the league officials.
