There is truly no comparison to Lexi Thompson’s dynamic personality. Her immaculate shots and admirable interpersonal skills are truly two of her trademarks. Thompson has described in the past that she chooses to wear blue on Sundays owing to the fact that she is superstitious.

According to her, this has to do with her performance at the Evian tournament back in 2010, where she was the runner-up. Ever since then, she has worn blue every Sunday as a lucky charm. It is expected that the sensational golfer will appear in her blue ensemble at the third and final round of Grant Thornton as well, considering it is also taking place on a Sunday. The American LPGA sensation is paired up with Rickie Fowler in this event with an interesting format, and the duo finished the second round with a score of 4 under par.

Some years ago, Lexi Thompson shed light on this matter. She said, “I wear pink on Saturdays for breast cancer, and I wear blue on Sundays. I’m superstitious. At the Evian tournament in 2010, in which I came in second, I wore baby blue on a Sunday. And ever since then, I’ve worn it every Sunday. Puma sponsors me, so I wear all their outfits in bright colors. I wear matching hair ribbons, too.”

Apart from superstitious tendencies, another reason that the LPGA sensation wears blue on Sundays is to honor her participation with her philanthropic endeavor for the SEAL Legacy Foundation. This charitable foundation proudly supports the Navy’s SEAL warriors and their families. Interestingly, this is not the only philanthropic cause that Thompson devotes her time to, in fact, her Saturdays have been reserved for another cause that is close to her heart for years. Thus, the question arises: Why does Lexi Thompson wear pink on Saturdays?

Pressel has famously started the initiative called MammoVan to help with the early diagnosis of breast cancer, a terminal disease that has scarred the golfer personally as she lost her mother to it two decades ago.
