Jason Day is a 12-time winner on the PGA Tour. Notably, the Australian professional is also part of the field this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. However, the PGA Championship winner’s fans recently received a piece of sad news before the start of the event.

Is Jason Day out of the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational?
The 2022 PGA Tour season is into its ninth event of the season, and probably one of the most favorite ones of all; The 2022 Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill Club and Lodge. Some big names in the sport of golf are in the field this week, along with some past champions. One such name is Jason Day. The Aussie professional won the event back in 2016. However, fans recently received heartbreaking news regarding Jason, ahead of the start of the event.

On Wednesday, news broke out that the 34-year-old professional has withdrawn from the event just before the start of the same. As a result, Day is being replaced by David Lipsky in the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The news saddened all as the PGA Tour communications posted about the same on their Twitter account. The statement said, “2016 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard champion Jason Day is a WD from the tournament and replaced in the field by David Lipsky.”

Notably, it is the third time in four years that Day has withdrawn from the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Day has suffered from some serious injuries in the past too. But why did he withdraw from the API this time?

Why did Day withdraw from the API?
As of now, no clear reason has been mentioned as to why Day withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational. However, a Twitter statement issued by JasonDayTracker says it is due to a personal reason. The statement said, “I think it needs to be clarified that Jason Day has withdrawn from the API this week for personal reasons, not injury. I assume his back is healthy. Whilst I have my suspicions why he has withdrawn, I can’t confirm anything. Thoughts go out to him and his family.”
