After Ludvig Aberg and Tom Kim, another rising star is set to change his caddie. Reports have confirmed that Paul Tesori, the veteran bagman who loved to frequent Chipotle while touring with stars, has quit the service of Cameron Young. Surprisingly, fans expected the partnership to be for the long haul, considering both seemed excited when they teamed up.

However, it ended only nine months after it started. Tesori’s departure was more baffling because of his long acquaintance with the current World No. 21. So, it begs the question: Why did the seasoned caddie suddenly leave the promising youngster?

Paul Tesori confirmed in a sit-down with Golfweek that he won’t loop for Cameron Young in 2024. The Charlotte native, who was suffering from back pain, has now partnered up with the veteran golfer, Brendon Todd, and will accompany him on the greens of the Tour next year. On the other hand, there are no confirmed reports on who will caddie for Young next season.

Paul Tesori has been caddying for 21 years. Previously, the seasoned looper was on the bag for former World No. 1 Vijay Singh, Jerry Kelly, and Webb Simpson, with whom he had worked for over a decade. Notably, Simpson won all seven of his PGA Tour victories, including the 2012 U.S. Open, with Tesori looping for him. So, his hasty exit after nine months springs more surprises.

Moreover, Tesori was eager to caddie for a young prospect like Cameron Young. The 26-year-old has been a playing partner for Simpson in practice rounds as well. It is also still unclear whether Tesori’s niggling back injury has something to do with the decision to opt for a veteran instead of the youngster.

Nonetheless, Tesori’s departure is the latest episode of the ongoing caddie shake-ups. In fact, Brendon Todd’s caddie, David Clark, left him for LIV Golf’s Ian Poulter. And now on the PGA Tour alone, Young has become the third rising star who will have a new caddie next season.

Cameron Young is not the only top-25-ranked golfer to have a new caddie next year. Tom Kim, who broke two records by Tiger Woods this season, has also taken the service of Daniel Karrat. Joe Skorvon, who was on the bag when Kim defended his Shriner Children’s Open title in October, has instead gone to another rising star, Ludvig Aberg.

The Swede is gearing up for his first full season on the PGA Tour. And Skovron, who has previously partnered with Rickie Fowler, replacing Jack Clarke was one of the first moves of that preparation. “I wanted someone I could rely on 1,000 percent, and I think with the experience in the past that Joe has kind of speaks for itself, and I think that’s mainly what I’m looking for,” the World No. 30 told Smylie Kaufman.
