Brooke Henderson has added an accessory to her wardrobe since the last CPCK Women’s Open. She had always worn glasses off the course, but she never wore them on the course until August 2023. “But it was just time that I wanted to be able to see things a little bit better and maybe not depend on Brit so much,” said the 27-year-old at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club last year.
She has been spotted wearing glasses on her social media platforms before appearing on the field with them. One year later, she is back to playing the same championship where she started putting on glasses to improve her gameplay!

Brooke Henderson is currently in Canada for the practice round ahead of the 2024 CPKC Women’s Open. The LPGA pro attended a presser after wrapping up her golf session on Tuesday at the Earl Grey Golf Club. While being asked about her preparations, the interviewer asked Henderson how wearing the glasses had helped her.
Henderson had stated earlier as well that she started wearing glasses out of necessity, as they helped with her vision on the course and improved her game. “Yeah, so it’s one year since I started wearing them, and it’s nice to be able to see where your ball goes, especially off the tee and into the greens,” she said.
The LPGA Tour Pro once revealed that she could never really see the ball land since the beginning of her career. But that did not pose much of a problem, as she has always been an intuitive player, as a Canadian once said, “but I was a feel player, so I just really leaned into that feel.
She would ask her sister, Brittany Henderson, who is her caddie if it was on the green or the apron. But wearing glasses changed things for her. “It’s a little bit more comfortable, especially on those long putts or chips, which I think has helped,” added Brooke Henderson.

However, she does not enjoy wearing them. She even confessed to switching to a contact lens by the next year. But for now, it is the glasses that have been doing wonders for her! The interviewer even added “Happy glasses anniversary”, to which Henderson responded with a thanks!
Has wearing glasses improved Brooke Henderson’s game?
While there might not be a very significant improvement in her gameplay, there surely have been some. Before she started wearing her glasses, she started the 2023 season with a victory at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January. However, she missed five cuts after that. Since the CPKC Women’s Open last year, Henderson has played in 24 tournaments. She has missed the cut only once.

Henderson spent most of the last season without glasses, and yet, when it comes to carding birdies and eagles, the stats pretty much speak for themselves. In 2023, the 26-year-old only carded three eagles, while halfway through this season, she already had six eagles. While in the entire last season, she ended 35 rounds scoring 60s and carded a total of 309 birdies, still five more months for this season, and Henderson has already carded 201 birdies and made 21 rounds with under 60s scores.
While not every aspect has taken a positive shift, wearing glasses surely has brought about some difference for her in the course. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments section below!
