‘Why Aren’t These Organizations Listening…’: Paige Spiranac Says ‘More People Would Enjoy’ Golf if Women Were Included in Team Events

Paige Spiranac is one of the most followed social media celebrities in the golf world. The ex-professional golfer never shies away from giving her unbiased opinions about everything happening in sports. She also runs a podcast and loves talking to her fans about her personal life as well as other sports. And in a recent episode, she raised her voice about the idea of including women in team events.

Paige Spiranac has always been vocal about the gender disparity that prevails in the sports world regarding opportunities and rewards. In the recent episode of her podcast, she talked about how interesting it would be if women players were allowed to participate in team events alongside their male counterparts.

Spiranac said that people on social media were introducing the idea of having women participation in the Presidents Cup. And the ex-golfer thought that it would be “fantastic”.  

“I would love a mixed team event,” she said. “I think that would be absolutely electric to watch. And I think more people would enjoy it.”

Spiranac has talked about this idea earlier too and thinks it is high time the officials act on it. With everything going on in the golf world, this could be a way to promote a league to a whole different level! Spiranac said that fans wanted to experience certain things and it was the tour’s duty to make sure they were giving the fans what they want. “Why aren’t these organizations listening and hearing what we have to say and making those changes,” Spiranac stated. However, she said that LIV Golf could be thinking of working on this idea. She gave an example of the Aramco events where mixed team events have been taking place for a long time. “You can get it done,” she said.

The golf star left her career as a professional player when she failed to qualify for the LPGA Tour. She had tons of fans when she started playing professional golf. And it was not long before she decided to make use of her social media platforms to make a career out of it. Today, Spiranac is one of the biggest sports influencers and also works as a golf instructor.

The ex-professional posts videos of herself playing golf and teaching her fans how to hit perfect shots. And according to her plans, she wants to continue working in the same field and reach higher pedestals in the same.
