At this point reiterating the fact that the $3 billion merger was a shock for the golfers is pointless. Ever since Jay Monahan took the stage to announce the merger the hue and cry of the PGA Tour golfers remain unsatisfied. And the pressure point among the players reached its peak last week.

When it came, the merger started a domino effect. To provide a temporary relief to the panicked mind of the player, Tiger Woods was appointed by the Tour by its board members. Then after a few months, Rory McIlroy resigned from the Tour’s board as in his words he felt like a scapegoat. And now once again the frenzy among players has risen the result of which is the involvement of legal forces.

But for Garrigus, the situation is as thin and transparent as ice. Garrigus recently appeared on the SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, where he shared his hot take on the matter. Speaking about the legal step he said, “You think Rory wanted to take my call and hear me b***h for 25 minutes?!”

There is no voice from the lower half of the membership and that’s more than the top players. There are more lower guys than there are top guys in the world.” Garrigus believes that the players are in desperate need of a voice that represents them but sending a legal letter is not the way to go about it.

Garrigus has been supported in his remark by PGA Tour veteran Chris Stroud who also believes that the Tour doesn’t care about the players who are below the top 30 ranks. He also reflected upon how the league is partial to the leading golfers only.
