In an unpredictable turn of events, Jon Rahm’s name has suddenly gone MIA from the TGL website and all social media accounts. This has also left some fans speculating if he is joining the rival tour, LIV Golf. When the format and the list of players were released today, there were only 23 names. Let’s take a look at who could successfully fill the void left by the World No.3.
Jordan Spieth – Taking into consideration all the achievements of Jordan Spiеth, it is a surprise that Woods hasn’t already signed him. His recent Ryder Cup performance further adds to his recommendations. Ranking 14 on the OWGR list, Spieth could be among the top choices to replace Rahm.
Tony Finau – A known name in the league, Tony Finau has cleared some tough tournaments in his career. This year he has already won the Mexico Open and is placed 22 on the world ranking. He will be bringing much sincerity and experience to TGL if selected.
Will Zalatoris – The 27-year-old may have only one win on the Tour, but in the past, he has shown his great element. In 2022, Zalatoris almost won two more events, but finally lost in tight playoffs. His record in the major tournaments is thoroughly impressive. Woods has an eye for young talent and could definitely take a detour his way. Right now, Will is ranked 31 on OWGR.

Can Matsuyama or Hadwin fill the void?
Hideki Matsuyama – The 31-year-old Japanese golfer is a known name on the Tour. He may not have enjoyed a win this year but has eight victories on the Tour, one of which was a Masters tournament. Woods and McIlroy have seen him in action and could consider him for their team. He currently sits at 36 in the rankings.
Adam Hadwin – Currently on number 48 on the OWGR, Adam Hadwin has been playing on the PGA Tour for a long time. This year he has made some good finishes on the Tour and lost the Rocket Mortgage Classic in a playoff to Fowler and Morikawa. He could be a good fit, too.
