A closer look into Wesley Bryan’s life
Wesley Bryan’s golf journey began when he chose the sport over baseball to increase his chances of earning a college scholarship. His earliest golf memory is an amazing one. Only at the age of 8, he scored an eagle and double eagle on consecutive holes in a junior tournament at Thornblade Club near Greenville, S.C., and went on to win his age group. But here is the interesting thing: if Wesley weren’t a professional golfer, he would probably be an attorney.

George III is a PGA professional and founder of the George Bryan Golf Academy in Chapin. He is the Director of Instruction there. The golfer’s father competed in the 1999 PGA Championship at Medinah. He has also been named one of the Best Teachers in South Carolina multiple times by Golf Digest. Is Wesley Bryan married?
Behind the golfer’s success stands his pillar of strength, his wife Elizabeth Gray. The couple met in preschool at age 4 in Irmo, South Carolina, and have been married for 12 years. The couple didn’t become close until their junior year of high school, and they grew together when Gray pursued a physician assistant degree from Augusta University, while Wesley followed in his father’s footsteps to pursue a golf career.
After marrying on August 19, 2012, the couple decided to start a family and has welcomed three daughters. Their first one was born in 2018, and they named her Hadley; their next daughter, Winnie, was born in 2021. And their third daughter, Millie, followed right after three years, born in February 2024. Gray has been a constant source of support and has accompanied her husband to tournaments. Her unconditional love has brought Bryan immense comfort, and he has even said she would be a great professional caretaker. “I feel like she’s really called to be in the field of medicine and caring for her patients.”

The couple shares a deep Christian faith, and Gray plays a significant role in Wesley’s spiritual journey. “I believed in Jesus; I believed in God, but I didn’t have a relationship,” he has said previously, but that quickly changed when Gray came into his life. This just proves how much a good partner can change the course of your life for the better.
