Tyrrell Hatton has climbed up the ladder at the ongoing RBC Canadian Open where after the second round he is at T2, tied with Aaron Rai. On Friday, he shot an 8-under 64 which raised his position around 70 spots.

Although the English player has been known to have a temper on the field there is someone in his life who keeps him grounded and focused. The 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational Winner married his long-time girlfriend Emily Braisher in 2021. Emily is often seen with Hatton through all his tournaments and tours around the world with him. But who is his wife and how much of an impact does she have on Hatton’s success?

Hailing from England, Emily spent her childhood in Buckinghamshire. Three years ago, in 2020 she completed her graduation from Nottingham Trent University in Fashion Communication and Promotion. Before her marriage, Braisher used to write a blog by the name Wife On Tour where she would pen down the good and bad moments of being a professional golf player’s partner, and the experience of touring with him for his tournaments. She chose the word ‘Wife’ and not ‘Girlfriend’ as she believed that the former had a better ring to it.

On the blog’s homepage, she had written “I suppose I’ve started this blog as more of an outlet for my thoughts and daily life happenings,”. She also mentioned the tough experiences that come with her situation. She wrote “WAG lifestyle can come across as nothing short of glamour and bliss, but in reality, being away from home and living out of a suitcase can be tough at times.”

In 2017 she also wrote blogs on The Masters and the US Open at Erin Hills in 2017. Ever since they’ve been together, Emily has accompanied Hatton around the world, always there to cheer him on and extend him her support.

The adorable romance of Hatton and Braisher

Hatton might get hot-headed sometimes on the course, but during their courtship, he was a dotting boyfriend. Despite his tight schedule, he always took out quality time to spend with Emily. From private beach dinners in the Maldives to intimate family gatherings, he always took special care of his lady love, and the pair seems to enjoy each other’s company a lot.

Emily was his caddie at the Master’s Par-3 Contest in 2019 and he later called her the prettiest caddie he has ever had.

Although Emily chose to lead a quiet life and has a private account on Instagram, her loving husband has been sharing her pictures on his account for a long time now. The first time he officially mentioned her name was way back in 2015, when he commended Braisher for putting up their Christmas tree. After that, she made several appearances on his account in some adorable pictures.

A Christmas engagement and a memorable wedding

Christmas is a special time for the couple who always celebrate it in a special way. In 2019, Tyrrell made this holiday even more special by proposing to Emily in front of their Christmas tree.  The couple tied the knot in May 2021 at Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, North Carolina, where they were hilariously late to their own wedding!

Hatton later told in an interview “Our driver turned up an hour late, so that meant we arrived half an hour late for our ceremony.” Adding more trouble to their conundrum was the rainfall which happened just after their ceremony and they had to do their wedding shoot by the side of the road. But that didn’t bother the romantic couple for whom it was the most special moment of their life. “So, yeah, not quite as magical as you’d plan it, I guess, but it was still pretty special,” Hatton said.

When not touring, the couple divide their time between Buckinghamshire and Orlando, Florida. The English golfer is having a nice year game-wise. He has participated in 52 events this season and has made earnings of $6,695,427. Now it will be worth watching if he can achieve glory at the Canadian Open as well.
