Tommy Fleetwood is undoubtedly one of the finest golfers in England. Be it through his multiple European Tour victories or through his notable 2018 Ryder Cup performance, where he produced four points from five matches, the golfer has certainly cemented his name as an English golf force to be reckoned with. And although he still awaits his first major, his other stellar victories, like at the 2017 Race to Dubai, prove that the 32-year-old may eventually find one.

Fleetwood’s journey, however, hasn’t always been as smooth as it is now! There was a phase of his life in 2016 when he was ranked 188th in the world. To top it all off, the golfer was in the top 50 the year prior to that. If there was one person who was a constant in her life during all of it, it was his then-girlfriend and now wife, Clare Fleetwood. She has supported him through all his highs and lows on the course and, of course, off it too! Let us find out a little bit more about her.

According to Golf Magic, the couple met eight years ago, in 2015, when Fleetwood was just starting out on the DP World Tour. His wife, a sports agent, was supposed to poach the golf pro for the company she was working for at the time. This marked their first interaction, as Clare Craig attempted to convince Tommy to sign with them. Things only grew from there, and two years later, before they knew it, they were in love.

The now 54-year-old Clare was born in 1971 and grew up in Manchester. She used to work in sports management when she met the golfer, and she was the vice president of the Europe Division at Hambric Sports Management.

Before working there, the golf pro’s partner was a trustee at the Richard Burns Foundation. Burns passed away in 2005, but before his death, Clare and he had been friends long before that. She used to accompany him to rallies as an assistant.

How many children do Clare and Tommy Feetwood have?

The golfer’s wife has three children, all boys in total. Her two children, Oscar and Murray, are from her previous relationship. She gave birth to another baby boy with the golfer in September of 2017, whom they named Franklin Fleetwood. When the couple’s son Franklin was born, the golfer pulled out of the British Masters to be able to witness his son’s birth, proving exactly how much of a family man he truly is.

When did Clare Craig and Tommy Fleetwood tie the knot?

The duo got married in 2017, shortly after their son was born. The couple had a beautiful wedding in December in the Bahamas. The ceremony was an extremely private affair, with just 30 guests getting to witness them getting hitched.

The couple has a 22-year age difference between them, and while it may be an issue for others, it certainly isn’t one for the duo. During his interview with The Times of London, Fleetwood commented on the age gap and said, “Oh, we definitely get comments. But it’s never been a thing to us. Clare actually looks very young for her age, and I look old—iit’s probably all that sun. She’s incredibly cool, and I’m not cool at all, though I am quite mature for my age.”

Fleetwood is undoubtedly a family fan who shares glimpses of his quality time with his family on social media. The pictures he shares are from different vacations the couple goes on and fun outings they have with other friends of theirs.

Clare is the golf pro’s support system

Clare has been seen attending a lot of English golf pro’s tournaments and cheering him up. She was also present in Dubai for the DP World Tour Championship when the golfer won the Race to Dubai title in 2017.

After the 32-year-old English golfer won the Open de France in 2017, he thanked Clare, who was his fiance back then. The golfer tweeted, “My beautiful, amazing fiancée Clare Craig thank you for everything.”

Clare has been working as Fleetwood’s manager since 2015 and supports him from the sidelines during his tournaments. She likes to stay away from the spotlight and doesn’t really enjoy being a part of the fandom.

The couple likes to keep their professional and personal relationships separate. After the couple got married, they thought of finding a new agent for the golfer, but then they decided to give it a go since the golfer thought that he would not trust anybody as much as he trusted his wife.
