Once rivals, John Daly and Tiger Woods both find themselves at the tail-end of their careers. But the rivalry that never lacked mutual respect, has extended to a different field. Both, proud parents of their junior golfer sons, now find themselves occasionally facing each other at the PNC Championship.

While Woods Jr. is yet to face Daly II in a professional field of individual titles, both have taken some bold few steps in their career. For golf fans, this offers a good opportunity to measure how many of dad goals the two veteran golfers have managed to nail.

Charlie Woods turned heads when he first debuted with his father at the PNC Championship. Since then, Woods junior went on to make quite the mark at a young age.

Most recently, Woods Junior won the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship, thereby qualifying for the senior championship later this year. Tiger Woods was spotted caddying for his son at the tournament while still recovering from injury. Woods also claimed that spending time with his son is more important than recovery. Woods Junior also won another trophy for the Benjamin School at the West Coast High School Tournament at the South Florida PGA Junior Tour.

On the other hand, Daly’s progeny has shown a keen interest in golf from the early age of six. Six years older than Charlie Woods, Daly Jr. currently plays for Arkansas College, where his dad once played.

Most recently, in the Stephens Cup, Daly II finished inside the top ten. Prior to this, the 20-year-old golfer had seven AJGA top-ten finishes between 2020 and 2021 while finishing as the runner-up in the Dye Junior Golf Invitational.

Incidentally, Daly and Woods faced each other in the 2021 PNC Championship. At that event, the Daly father-son duo defeated Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods. When Senior Daly was asked about Charlie Woods and his son John Daly II, the veteran golfer had to say this.

If Tiger Woods can make a comeback from injury, probably the father-son duo will once again face Daly and his son at the PNC Championship this year.
