An incredible 9-stroke win and Steven Alderson lifts the G4D Tour at Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters. Fans and supporters of the 44-year-old were left mesmerized at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande by his strokeplay. Coming from a 2-stroke lead on day 2 to winning the championship at -7 left Anderson in tears during the Masters interview.
When he was asked about how he felt after his win, Anderson said, “On top of the world, amazing. Gotta thank mom and dad all the way.” He further dedicated his win to everyone who supported him so far.
Emotions were running wild as he expressed his joy in achieving this feat. He was also thrilled to have qualified for the season finale of the Tour saying that “it’s absolutely awesome” that his hard work has paid off.

A life of great struggle
The emotional Steven Alderson shared a glimpse of his life and career so far. He mentioned how he was bullied growing up, especially at school. He also talks about his experience in other golf clubs, stating that he was also bullied there. And yet, he is extremely proud of what he has achieved. Even then, he knows that he is loved and supported back home.
“Growing up as a kid and being bullied all the time at school and even bullied at other golf clubs, it just means the world to win here.”

In his victory speech, he thanked everyone who has been a part of his journey. He was incredibly grateful to his sponsors, Gully Winds Wine. He also thanked Rob and Sarah, the owners of Gully Winds Wine, Willunga.
Steven Alderson also elaborated on the major role his caddie plays in his gameplay. He said, “I’ve got to thank my caddie Trent (Blucher), without him this is not happening,” crediting him for his efforts. During the tournament, Blucher was also interviewed about the game plan and he said, “My role is to help him out and keep him calm.” And Alderson appreciates all that Blucher does to help him stay focused. He said, “Trent has just been awesome all the way this week. Staying in the moment, especially when we had that double on that hole, Trent was really good,” acknowledging the fact that Blucher ensures that he doesn’t get distracted. Alderson further added, “Years ago I just would have blown up and probably broke a club or thrown my bag or something like that” elaborating on the impact his caddie had after every stroke.
Steven Alderson also thanked his club for helping him reach this stage in his career. He said, “I’ve got to thank Willunga Golf Club as well back at home, just a great golf club to be a part of.”
Alderson is no stranger to winning, having won the South Australian Mid Amateur Men’s Championship in 2020. You can catch a memory of him with his trophy on his Instagram profile. He went on to also capture the Webex Players Series South Australia in 2023. His last victory before the G4D Tour event was the South Australian All Abilities Championship back in September 2024.
Coming back to his G4D triumph, Alderson also said, “Getting the opportunity to play out of the country representing not only Australia but representing the people back home, it’s just awesome.” It’s clear that he is incredibly honored to be a part of his community and loves his people back home. He will get to represent them internationally once again when he partakes in the G4D Tour Series Finale @ DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Earth Course, Dubai.

“It (Sotogrande) is a fantastic, fantastic golf course and the people here are just really friendly and inviting, it’s a great country,” he said as he praised the course where he won the trophy. He has nothing but positive things to say about everyone. He is an incredibly humble guy who always gives credit where it is due.

Known as ‘spud’ by his loved ones, we see him smiling in most of the Instagram posts that he has uploaded. Apart from all the pictures of him holding his prized trophies, he has also shared a few pictures of, what we assume, are his dogs. All these pictures have a caption of all hearts showing his love for his dogs. He has also shared a picture from a conversation with his fans where everyone congratulated him. This was a few months after his Webex Players Series victory in 2023.
