Does Jon Rahm's extensive sponsorship lineup make him the most marketable golfer today?

Jon Rahm was once the No. 1 golfer. He has had the privilege of enjoying the position both during his professional and amateur careers. The last time he enjoyed the No. 1 position was back in 2020, which lasted for a good 52 weeks. The 2X Major champion has a total of 20 wins as a professional.

Currently listed at No. 8, no doubt based on his performance on the PGA Tour has been stunning, and it has brought him several sponsorships. However, there have been changes in the deal ever since he joined LIV Golf back in 202. Here are the brand endorsements that he is currently associated with.

1. Callaway

Jon Rahm signed a multiyear agreement with Callaway in 2021. Earlier, he was part of the TaylorMade team, but he now carries the entire arsenal of his new endorsement. From there—the driver and irons—to the golf balls, Rahm’s partnership with Callaway is very evident. He not only uses the company’s staff bag but also wears a hat with their name. He first entered the 2021 Sentry as a partner.

“I’m so happy to be joining Callaway, and I can’t wait to start the year. The equipment is already performing well for me, and in my first round with the new setup, I shot a course record 59 at Silverleaf [in Scottsdale, Ariz.]. I have confidence in my new Callaway clubs—and especially the golf ball, which has really impressed me during the testing process,” said Rahm after the shift.

2. Mercedes Benz

Jon Rahm signed a deal with Mercedes-Benz as his travel partner in 2018. He is among the very few golfers who have a deal with the luxury brand and is often seen driving into the championships in his blue Benz. The brand, too, has been very generous about discussing his gameplay on their website. They refer to him as “a player with fiery passion and laser-like focus, making him a favorite among fans.”

3. Rolex

The Spaniard has been associated with Rolex since 2019. He had been given several watch options to choose from, and he opted for the Sky-Dweller, which has a steel bracelet and a blue dial. He has been wearing the same watch since then and has also called it his lucky charm for the games. From the European team’s Ryder Cup victory to his major victories, that is one accessory that Rahm makes sure to put on before he starts.

4. Santander Group

The Spanish multinational financial services company signed a multiyear deal with Jon Rahm in July 2023. He wears their logo on his apparel. Rahm is not just a member of the list of players that they sponsor, but he is also their global ambassador! The Open Championship last year was the first tournament he played after adding the Santander Group to his sponsorship portfolio.

5. Cuater Golf

Jon Rahm always wears his Ringer Cuater golf shoes on the course. Created by Travis Mathew, whose name brand was earlier his sponsor, has been associated with Rahm since his PGA Tour days and his LIV Golf days now. They refer to his gameplay as ‘Play smart, not hard’. He currently wears the green ringer, which is customized for him. It not only represents his Spanish culture with words like Vamos and Let’s Go printed on the sides but also has his nickname ‘Rahmbo’ at the back!

Well, after his move to the breakaway league, Rahm was made captain of the new team, Legion XIII. His teammates are Tyrrell Hatton, Kieran Vincent, and Caleb Surratt. Being the second-highest-ranked player in the league after Bryson DeChambeau, Rahm sure has brought in some exciting deals for his team as well.

Maestro Dob Tequila has been the Spaniard’s sponsor since the beginning of 2023. With his move to LIV Golf, he continued the multiyear partnership. Not only that, the agreement only expanded in June this year. Now the company has signed a multiyear partnership with his team, Legion XIII.

However, the deal was not a very expensive one for the company. They have been reported to be paying in the low seven figures per year to the team. This might be one of the reasons why their brand logo does not appear on his apparel. But the liquor company was seen hosting a happy hour at the LIV Golf Houston last month.
