Coming off the tee at the 8th hole of round 2 at the 2024 PNC Championship, Paddy Harrington’s ball rolls into the hole for an ace! An overjoyed Padraig Harrington embraces his son for the first hole-in-one of his career as the team moves up the table to tie with Team Woods. This was the 2nd ace of the day, with Charlie Woods planting the first on the 4th hole. And fans in attendance were equally appreciative of both the efforts as they cheered in joy for the sons of the two greats. Such has been the day at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

While Charlie Woods is still finding his way into professional golf by going through the rigorous amateur circuit, the same cannot be said about Paddy Harrington. Despite having a golf great like his father, Paddy never looked at golf as a career. But he has still been in the spotlight at the PNC Championship often.

Back in 2022, during another version of the family event, Padraig Harrington and his son Paddy were interviewed about their experience in the event. That is when the golf legend said, “My goal for Paddy when it comes to golf is that he loves the game, and in 80 years he still loves the game and playing the game. That’s my goal.” 

This was back when Paddy Harrington was still 19 years old.

Quick with his math, the young lad replied, “I’m 19, 80 years from now…” before getting interrupted by his father. The 3X major winner stated, “Yeah, you’ll be on. I put money on it that you’ll be playing the game in 80 years. 99 years of age. You’ll be living longer!” There were even comparisons made between Paddy Harrington & Charlie Woods considering how their parents are multi-time major winners. To that, the 21-year-old replied, “In Ireland, I would get a similar kind of perspective. ‘Are you going pro?’ No. ‘What’s your handicap?”

Apart from that, not much information remains available about Paddy Harrington outside of golf. He has kept his life away from the media except when participating in the PNC Championship with his father, Padraig Harrington.

While the comparisons may never stop, the dynamic between the father and son is definitely interesting to see for the fans. While Paddy Harrington may not be pursuing professional golf, he has still been able to hit some amazing strokes this year at the 2024 PNC Championship. Apart from the amazing hole-in-one at the 8th hole in the 2nd round, Team Harrington has had a great tournament overall. At the end of the first round, they ended up at T2 with a score of 12-under par 60. A bogey at the 6th was the only thing holding them back from ending the day at the top, besides Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods.

In the 2nd round of the tournament, we saw that amazing ace by Paddy Harrington. The team managed to score 9 more points to end the tournament with a score of 23. The Harringtons ended the 2024 PNC Championship at T3.
