Schofill is a final-year communication undergraduate at Auburn University. She proudly plays golf for the university as well as promotes it through her social media every time she gets a chance. From going fishing to making friends with goats, Megan Schofill does not compromise with her social life. But at the same time, she has her goals in golf clear. Schofill not only earned All-American academic honors in her freshman season but also maintained a solid 4.0 grade until her sophomore year, maintaining her student-athlete balance.
Keeping aside her astonishing grades in her course, Schofill also proves the same on the greens. Megan Schofill mostly plays at college events. Her first collegiate win was recorded at the Lake Oconee Invitational. According to the Florida State Golf Association, “She competed in all seven events, finishing her freshman season with four top-10 finishes. Schofill earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors and was named a WGCA All-American Scholar.”
Keeping her institution’s name high, Schofill has the lowest scoring average in program history, with 72.01 in a minimum of 60 rounds. Schofill has also acquired the experience of instructing children in 4–12 age groups on the fundamentals of golf. She served three months at Glen Arven Country Club, Thomasville, Georgia, as a seasonal camp counselor. Let us take a look at her golfing journey so far!
Megan Schofill’s golf journey
Megan Schofill won the Women’s Amateur Championship in 2020. In the same year, she won the title of Women’s Amateur Player of the Year for the first time. In 2023, she received the honor yet again. Both of these years, she had also been part of the winning U.S. national teams at the Arnold Palmer Cup. But 2023 has also seen her win one of the most prestigious titles in women’s amateur golf, the U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion at the Bel-Air Country Club. Yet, that’s not all.
At the beginning of 2023, Schofill was ranked 2nd at the Women’s Orlando International Amateur Championship. The same year, she was also the second runner-up at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic and the runner-up at the SEC Women Golf Championship. A year before this, she had also won her institution the Mason Rudolph Championship in 2022.
However, the most astonishing attempt she made was this year, when she took part in one of the major championships, the Chevron Championship, ranked T84. And now the 23-year-old golfer is participating in the 2024 US Women’s Open at the Lancaster Country Club.
Is Megan Schofill’s caddie her boyfriend?

She mentioned, “I think he really knows my swing tendencies,” Schofill further added, “He’ll tell me, ‘Hey, that one looked like this, so just keep an eye on that.’ Stuff that really won’t stress me out. Knows my game, Knows my misses which I think is super helpful. Knows my limits and knows what kind of shots I can and can’t hit.”

According to C.J. Easley’s parents, Schofill’s present Caddie wished to coach in college as well as play after he graduated. However, since the 2022 Sea Island Women’s Amateur, Easley has been his girlfriend’s caddie, and it makes sense to both him and his parents.
How her journey pans out at the 2024 US Women’s Open at Lancaster CC remains to be seen!
